Following the trend of Industry 4.0, industrial production processes using automated guided vehicles (AGVs) can be made more efficient when powered by lithium-ion battery systems instead of conventional lead-acid batteries. One lithium-ion battery can be recharged in an extremely short period of 15 to 60 minutes. Additionally, up to 85 percent of the energy can be recovered with regenerative braking.
